Holy moley! He’s walking? Gabriel’s been on the edge for the past month or so, and we’re REALLY happy he’s taking he sweet time.

We had a similar “where did you get that?” experience with Gabriel. I couldn’t figure out why Karen had put him in the crib along with the stuffed animal that usually sits on the changing pad… and his clothes for the day, which were *also* on the changing pad… right next to the crib.

Another time we were in the kitchen and he suddenly had a big, wooden cooking spoon in his hand.

We now call him mister monkey arms.

My sleepytime trick is to read him the alphabet poster in his room or re-introduce him to all of the people in the photos of family and friends we have — er, had — on the wall in the nursery. (Those photos are still in a box somewhere until we figure out what we did with the hammer so we can put them up in the new nursery.)

That said, nothing else will substitute if our G-man is hungry. I feel like you’re hitting a point where Gabriel had a growth spurt, so I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s what’s happening for Thomas.

Awesome capture of the lip smacking! Gabriel occasionally does something similar, but nowhere near as comical or for as long a time.

Gabriel went through a reflux-y phase, too. The good news is that it passed. The bad news is that now it seems to be back — although apparently as a side-effect of his course of thrush medication. Hopefully it will go away again when he’s finished the meds.
