We’re trying some new pacifiers today (for Miles, not Danielle or me, though sometimes I wonder if they’d help …).
At the store, there was some talk of whipping one out and popping it in his craw. I almost said yes until I saw that they, like everything (including the fancy top-o-the-line iPhone with which I’m creating this here blog post), had made the long trip from a Chinese factory to us. So, we decided to hold off.
I wonder where things will be made when Miles is a grown up.

Miles managed to puke all over himself yesterday. So we figured it was time to actually give him a bath.
Sunday was Mile’s first full day at home. He spent most of it sleeping. Then he met his Grandmommy and Pop Pop and watched us all eat BBQ. He was fine with that though, as boob > BBQ any day of the week.
On Saturday afternoon we brought Miles home from the hospital.

I do believe that Miles Isaak is messing with us. A 5 day old boy just can’t be this easy going. Seriously, it’s weird. If he’s being held, he’s generally chill. In fact, he’s usually out like a light. When he’s not being held, and wants to be (always), well, that’s a different story, but still, this is a new experience for us.
In fact, the last three nights have been almost bizarrely good. He’s sleeping for good stretches, and then just waking up to feed. Once he has a clean diaper and full belly, he’s right back out. Part of this is likely the fact that he’s presently sleeping with Danielle (zero stir-to-boob delay), but we’ll take it. The only reason I’m not feeling 100% rested is that I’m an idiot and don’t sleep enough. I can’t blame Miles for that.
Also, this whole having three sets of hands around has been sooo excellent. Tonight Janice goes back to Cleveland, and we’ll be back to the reality of no longer outnumbering the little ones. We all know that when there’s a tie, kids to adults, kids win…
In other news, Miles has his first checkup yesterday. He’s only a half an ounce away from 9lbs after his initial drop, and he’s otherwise perfectly healthy and chill. Did I mention that he was chill?
This whole office to Thomas’ new big boy room thing has really cramped my picture processing style. I might have to start taking even more with the iPhone just to fill in the blanks.
How good was our stay at Mt. Auburn? On the way home Danielle described it said she was mentally relaxed as I’d she was coming home from a mini vacation. This after pushing out the aforementioned baby Holstein…
